Running Clinics & Walking Programs

Heart Strong Fitness provides running and walking clinics in the Spring and Fall. We have programs for all types of runners and walkers:

Couch to 5km 12 week Program
AND
Couch to 10km 12 week Program

Our clinics include a 30 minute initial consult and pre-program aerobic fitness test to assess your current fitness level and create an individualized program. Our learn to run 5km is a popular clinic that provides a safe and easy introduction to the sport of running. Various education topics and specific running strength exercises are provided throughout the clinic to promote a long term habit and prevent injury.

Our next Couch to 5km and Couch to 10km Programs will begin on January 22 and will run Tuesday and Thursday nights at 5:30pm for 12 weeks. $150 + GST

Running Maintenance

Join Practicing Kinesiologists for a fun, supported, 12 week program. Includes a weekly run and strength session. Must be able to run 5-8km, or 10:1's. Runs will be in trails and the seawalk focusing on maintenance and tempo runs. Strength sessions will be in the clinic and focus on core, balance and running related strength. Tuesday Trail Run 5:30pm Friday Strength 7:00am Run only - $80 + GST for 8 weeks Both days - $120 + GST for 8 weeks.

Guided Trail Hikes

Learn a different Trail each week! Must be able to walk 5-6km in about 1 hour. 6 weeks for $60 + GST Wednesdays 10:30am starting April 17

The "couch to 5kms" at Heart Strong Fitness was everything I hoped for and more! This program is set up for success and is for true running beginners! Throughout this program we received education from a dietician, a kinesiologist, a physiotherapist, a long distant runner to name a few - along with a tonne of useful info about strength training geared towards runners, recovery and stretching. Thanks to Robyn and Sarah for all the coaching and training - these two are some of the most positive and supportive people I know.
