Running Clinics & Walking Programs
Heart Strong Fitness provides running and walking clinics in the Spring and Fall. We have programs for all types of runners and walkers:
Couch to 5km 12 week Program
Couch to 10km 12 week Program
Our clinics include a 30 minute initial consult and pre-program aerobic fitness test to assess your current fitness level and create an individualized program. Our learn to run 5km is a popular clinic that provides a safe and easy introduction to the sport of running. Various education topics and specific running strength exercises are provided throughout the clinic to promote a long term habit and prevent injury.
Our next Couh to 5km Program will start on September 17, 2018 and will run on Monday and Thursday 5:30-7:00pm, $150 + GST
We are Runner's Monthly Run Program
Do you have a specific running goal? Join our monthly running program and receive an individual training program and individual strength program. This is a great way to work towards your own goal in a group setting. Join any or all of the weekly classes:
Monday's 6:30pm Trail - we explore new trails throughout town weekly
Thursday's 6:00am SeaWalk - work on your pace with tempo or hills
Friday's 6:30am Strength - focus on specific strength in the clinic
Ongoing registration for $50 + GST / month
Guided Trail Hikes
We are walking throughout the summer! This is great way to explore the trail around town (new trails weekly) and to meet new walkers. You will learn about proper walking warm ups and stretcehs, nordic poles and more!
Next round of trail hikes will start July 11 for 6 weeks, Wednesday's 8:45-10:15am, $60 + GST

The "couch to 5kms" at Heart Strong Fitness was everything I hoped for and more! This program is set up for success and is for true running beginners! Throughout this program we received education from a dietician, a kinesiologist, a physiotherapist, a long distant runner to name a few - along with a tonne of useful info about strength training geared towards runners, recovery and stretching. Thanks to Robyn and Sarah for all the coaching and training - these two are some of the most positive and supportive people I know.
